Cambodia Supports 3 Destination Tourism Package to Share with Vietnam and Laos

HANOI: Cambodia’s National Assembly President, Khuon Sudary, announced her support for a single tourism package that would take visitors through Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos.

During the second day of her official visit to Vietnam, Khuon Sodary met with her Vietnamese counterpart Vuong Dinh Hue to build good cooperation.

During the meeting, the two sides recalled the history of their relationship and the joint military effort to end the war, bring peace to both countries, and then maintain good relations.

Vuong Dinh Hue stressed that National Assembly of Vietnam will continue to strengthen cooperation with Cambodia, while Khuon Sodary praised the rapid progress of Vietnam and pledged her support. Both leaders agreed on the importance of strengthening ties and cooperation between neighboring countries and their borders during such a high-risk global atmosphere.

"Based on the traditional friendship and all-round cooperation, the National Assembly of Cambodia has chosen to visit Vietnam and Laos as my first official and friendly visit," she said.

The National Assembly President also expressed her satisfaction with the progress of the two governments' cooperation in all fields, especially the growth of trade between Cambodia and Vietnam, which reached $10 billion USD last year, to the benefit of the people of both countries. The National Assembly of Cambodia supports the launch of a three-destination tourism package between Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos.

The two sides pledged to promote cooperation between their parliaments, both in the bilateral and multilateral frameworks. They said they would expand the visits of MPs between them, especially new members. They also reaffirmed their countries’ commitments to establishing a peaceful borderline, cooperating on cyber security and finding and repatriating fallen Vietnamese soldiers from the war.
